Lee County has had a lot of Antique Schools. Many many one-room schools plus old town schools, reform school, an orphan school and etc.
It is an open. Anyone can look in or it and comment. Maybe your ancestors went to one. Pictures, names and locations are there when available.

The Arches in Keokuk Page is below.

The building on fifth and Main collapsed last July. It has been the Green Tambourine. Arches were discovered during the clean up process. The city is holding the cleanup process now for 30 days to get professionals to figure out what they are.

Mike Foley of Montrose believes the site includes a connection to an underground tunnel. He believes the tunnel was dug many years ago and connects the Mississippi River and the intersection of 19th and Concert Streets.

These arches go under 6th street. See the State Central Bank in top center of the photo which stands on corner of 6th & Main. There is another arch to the right side of the man in the photo. It has been blocked up with cement blocks. This man is just a spectator. There is orange fencing and keep-out signs all around this.

Bottom picture shows further down. You can see 2 more arches below basement level. Their construction matches the other arches.
